Perfect for vacationers who don't want to spend an entire day at sea.

Offshore Rockfish (Long Leader)

Best Times: Year Around.

Our Captains favorite fishery of all, the Long Leader trips are 8 to 10 hours depending on the best fishing areas at the time. Captain Doug has spent years studying and researching offshore long leader fishing areas. Several species you can expect to see are Yellow Tail, Canary, Widow, Chilipepper, Bocaccio rockfish along with a few other species. The offshore species tend to be a bit larger than the nearshore fish and with a larger limit you will go home with a cooler full!

The Long Leader fishery is designed to suspend the artificial baits at least 30 feet from the bottom to protect the yelloweye rockfish which spends the majority of the time close to the sea floor. On occasion we will see a yelloweye caught in which we promptly return them back to the depths with descender devices.

THE RETENTION LIMIT FOR LONG LEADER FISHING IS 12 FOR LONGLEADER SPECIES!!! Folks, you may need 2 coolers waiting for you in your vehicle for the trip home this year!!

Halibut trips are split into two different fisheries. Nearshore and all depth. Near shore trips are 6 hours and are usually a short trip from the bay. All depth trips are 10 hours and range from 17 to 30 miles offshore.

There is nothing more exhilarating than hauling one of these flatty brutes up from the depths. The satisfaction of landing and tagging one of our most coveted prizes in any Northwest fishery will have you smiling all the way to the freezer, or the smoker, or the BBQ, or the grill, or the............ well you get the idea.
